About this series

In April 2022, I left London for a summer season job in Greece. I worked for 9 months as a bike guide in Vasiliki, a famous windsurfing bay on an island in the North West of the country.

While I was there, I wrote a weekly blog, which I planned to use to get myself my writing job at a cycling magazine shortly after I returned to England. Miraculously it seemed to work and I got a job at the Global Cycling Network a couple of months after returning.

The posts vary from simple recaps of each week to self-indulgent diatribes.

My highlights include this travelogue about a two day trip around Kefalonia and this post, written from the perspective of a sociologist, observing the behaviour of the people he is working alongside.

Witness my full terror at returning to England in this one, the final post I wrote in Greece.

Hope you enjoy this series from a fun chapter of my life.
