NASA’s Artemis II spacecraft is orbiting the earth after a successful launch last night.
The rocket, which cost $108 billion dollars, is part of NASA’s first lunar mission in decades.

Dr Kevin Fong, formerly of NASA’s Human Adaptation Office, was watching the launch:
‘This is a genuinely historic mission.
‘Its a dangerous dangerous thing, but absolutely fantastic to see it launch, awesome.’
This mission won’t land on the moon. The astronauts will loop around it, testing their equipment for future trips.
And within minutes of takeoff, there were teething issues:
‘Christina can you tell us what the toilet LED light was doing?’
But in a press conference, NASA’s Jared Isaacman confirmed, all was well.
‘Astronaunts NAMES are safe secure and in great spirits.
For now, they are orbiting the earth. Later today, they will begin the ‘trans-lunar injection burn’ – and head to the moon.
